Apartment Program
The Apartment Program accommodates 36 adults who live in one-, or two-bedroom apartments in the city of Albany. Eighteen of the residents live in individual apartments with staff available on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Apartment Program provides regular case management support for individuals who are ready for less structure and more independence. The program’s goal is to help residents acquire the skills needed for independent living in the community.
For those who are ready, Equinox supervises a Supported Apartment Program for 12 individuals. This transitional program enables individuals to live independently in the community while benefiting from the support of regular meetings with a housing specialist.
“I’ve learned a lot about myself and about my illness by coming [here]. While I lived at Holt House, I learned how to deal with stress by working with the staff. I talk with others, take walks, meditate among other things. I’ve also made many friends and like the staff.
I’m living in my own apartment and started working. I like my life now.” -Kathy G., Apartment Program
